Tsukuba Judo Dojo was founded by the late 8th Dan Sensei JIN IIZUMI. Born near the foothills of Mt. Tsukuba in 1933, he began practicing Judo in Japan at a young age. He trained and taught directly under the guidance of two of the greatest Judo masters of all time, Kyuzo Mifune and Sumiyuki Kotani, both of whom were students of Jigoro Kano, the founder of Kodokan Judo. Sensei Jin Iizumi has taught Kodokan Judo throughout Southern California since the 1960’s.
